One of the Priestesses, Diane, was sitting on a staircase, reading a book in slight boredom.

Kyrast, the Head Priestess, was sitting at a desk with her diary. She looked up as Izvire and the girl entered the room.

The girl bowed

[Miranda_]

"Welcome, Gabrielle." Kyrast turned to Izvire. "And what does the King want with the High Priestess?"

"Just to know if there's any way of stopping the sacrifice taking place."

Kyrast raised an eyebrow. "Do you believe the old texts, that say that if the sacrifice doesn't take place, then the sun will go out? I for one don't believe it, but the ppl do, and the sacrifice must take place. You'll get over Zaister, in time."

Gabrielle rolled her eyes, her expression hidden by her hair.

[Miranda_]

"Love died for me eight times. I understand it's hard, but that's the natural order of things."

Izvire sighed heavily.

[Sarah_K_O_M]

Gabrielle twiddled her fingers.

[Miranda_]

"Just spend as much time with your husband as you possibly can, before the end."

[Sarah_K_O_M]

Gabrielle waited.

[Miranda_]

"Gabrielle, I am pleased with your progress. All depends on the hunt tonight as to whether you or your rival will win the coveted place in the Five to replace Karan when she retires."
