He said nothing, just held her close, enjoying the moment.

She was almost ready to fall asleep, but knew better than to fall sleep when sitting in water. As she was relaxing, a part of her mind nagged at her. Athena had the ability to detect life-force, and she could've sworn she felt it in her... she let herself probe deeper to check it out...

Suddnely, she went stiff. "Oh, no! No, no, this can't be heppening!" she moaned.

[Miranda_]

"What, what's the matter?" asked Heimdall, worriedly.

"H-Heimdall, I'm pregnant. and not just one child, but two..." Athena said in a shaky voice. It was one thing to watch someone else's kid for a few minutes, it was another thing completely to have to raise some of her own.

[Miranda_]

"It doesn't matter. I can look after you and them, no matter what. I could even hire a nanny if it got too much for you." Heimdall pulled Athena even closer and hugged her hard.

She held him tight, too, feeling relieved; she knew she couldn't do it alone. "They're fraternal, one boy, one girl." She said after a moment.

[Miranda_]

"Better not tell anyone else, not yet. I don't want Frigg to make nasty comments or the others to tease you."

[spirit_queen]

"I know, I know. I mean, this is pretty much my one area of true insecurity." athena said. "That, and relationships, but I've been teased about it enough already that the only part left to get over is the shyness. But you exhibit being shy, too, which makes me feel better." She yawned. "It's probably about two in the morning. It snowed since we brought frigg back and I've ascertained that you don't have to go to work tomorrow, but i still think some sleep is in order."

[Miranda_]

"Me too. I'm really tired and hopefully since it's late, we can get upstairs without anyone being around."

[spirit_queen]

"sounds good to me." athena said. she would have stood up, except Heimdall still had his arms around her. Not that she minded, she just didn't want to break the embrace solely for the purpose of standing up and drying off (especially when she was just so warm).
