Heimdall could sense something in the basement; he was afraid, all but clinging to Athena; only the thought that she might not want him touching her stopping him.

[spirit_queen]

Suddenly, everything went pitch black. athena couldn't even see her own nose. "Show yourself!" she called.

"Even if i did, you wouldn't be able to see me." the answering voice sounded exactly like Athena's, but a margin colder.

Athena thrust up her hand with the Soul Stone in it, which began to glow. Athena could see again, and right in front of her was an opque shadow that seemed to absorb all light rays sent at it. It had her figure, her braids, and was a complate outline of her. "so i finally meet my shadow." She said.

"Indeed." The featureless figure took a step towards Athena. "I come bearing you, wimpy boy and the other deities a message."

"Go on." Athena said darkly.

"We are almost done unraveling the spell Zeus, Odin, Ra and the other head gods set up to stop us from entering this realm." The shadow seaid. "we shall soon be among you, and we cannot wait to finally begin our project."

"Oh, really? how delightful." athena said in a moking way. She brightened the glow of the gem, and her shadow began to flicker like a candle flame in the wind.

"it won't be long now. We will arrive before the year is out. Prepare yourselves' we expect a challenge." The shadow said in a voice that was almost a whisper.

Athena chuckled coldly. "I'll be waiting." She said as she intensified the light again. The shadow dissipated then. she looked back at Heimdall. "you okay?" she asked.

[Miranda_]

Heimdall was shivering with fear. "Not really."

"when I went to the farmhouse to tell you about them, I wasn't just joking around." she said. "But it's gone now; i need you to help me with the electricity like you promised." she took his hand and tugged him along the basement.

[Miranda_]

"OK. Just tell me what I have to do. And I did sort of believe you then, only I couldn't really do anything then."

[spirit_queen]

"Please just hold the flashlight steady at the electric box." athena said. "Because of Frigg, right?"

[Miranda_]

Heimdall held the flashlight as steady as he could. "That's right."

[spirit_queen]

Athena began to tinker, using sparks and 'magic' now and then, and the lights upstairs flickered on. "Done." she said to Heimdall.

[Miranda_]

"Can we go back up then? Even with the lights on, this basement gives me the creeps."

[spirit_queen]

Athena chuckled. "It certainly isn't very welcoming." she said, dusting off her hands. she carefully placed the Soul stone back in its socket on the Sword, then mounted the steps.
