Shaun wasn't yet back; he finished work about two hours after school finished.

Dustin had finished work for the day; he was sitting in the den listlessly starting on some of the homework his tutor had set him. Altho he did his classwork well enough, he did it without energy or interest, tho he tried to cover it up so that the tutor wouldn't guess.

"What if it wasn't? It's not as tho I've got any choice in the matter," Dustin snapped at Tina. He savagely stabbed at the table with his pencil til the point broke off.

"I haven't got any choice but to be trapped for years and years until I get to the point when I fail all my exams and maybe then I'll be free; but probably not, cuz I'll end up having to keep on retaking the exams every year after that forever."
