[Miranda_]

A tall, lanky figure stumbled out of the fire. Righting himself, the figure stood up. He had the same bronze skin as the other Egyptian deities, but his eyes were dark blue, instead of brown. His head was of an animal that no-one would ever have seen before, cuz there was nothing like it in nature at all. The ears were long and square ended, the muzzle resembled that of an aardvark, and the neck was broad like that of a donkey.

Shadow-possessed-Xander cast a spell over Set so that he could speak English. "Welcome Set." Xander said in a voice that was obviously inhuman. Darkness surrounded him like a sort of cloak. "Since we summoned you, we would ask that you do one thing and one thing only; kill Osiris."

[Miranda_]

Set didn't answer for a few moments. When he finally did, it was in a voice that was weighed down with depression. "Why? What would be the point?"

"Because we command you to." Shadow-Xander said. The real Xander hoped Set would just say no; he knew the shadows couldn't force him.

[Miranda_]

"You can't command me to do anything. No-one has that right. Besides, genius, you forgot something. My powers are connected to the desert." Set made a point of looking around in a mock exaggerated way, then looked back at Shadow!Xander. "There's no desert round here. Besides, I already killed Osiris and it was pointless; Isis just put him back together and back to life. She'd only do that again." Set assumed Isis was with Osiris.

The shadows fleed suddenly, and Xander fell the the ground. "...ow..."

[Miranda_]

Set now looked confused. "What the hell just happened?"

[spirit_queen]

"Um, I was possesed by these evil beings called the shadows. Osiris is capable of destroying them, so I think they summoned you to stop him." Xander said, standing and dusting himself off.

Tina sat bolt upright; she'd detected the black magic earlier. "Shaun, we have to go outside."

[Miranda_]

Set sighed. "And now they'll blame me. They always do."

Shaun looked alarmed. "It might have been the shadows; Osiris had better come out with us."

Tina nodded and found him, then thy went outside into the woods.

"For what? You can't control a summoning." Xander said.
