"Your track record isn't that good, you know, as far as being with men who want to stick around. Also, it seems that no matter what I do, you're never satisfied. If I bought you flowers, you'd probably keep on accusing me of cheating on you. I only never took you out cuz of the reason that I didn't have any money. I do now, so I can. As for the kids, I only said that I didn't want to get pregnant; not that I didn't want you to be."

"But I still try and find men that do. I don't give up on relationships just because my past experiences haven't been too great; unlike you giving up on marriage. Buying flowers would make me feel loved and appriciated, and not like you were cheating on me. And when I told you I went off birth control, you told me to get back on it because you didn't want kids."

"I didn't want kids forced on me, is what I meant. If we planned to have them, rather than you just coming off the pill and presenting me with a fait compli, I wouldn't mind that. I already told you why I didn't take you out or buy flowers; it's a bit difficult to do that without money. And if you promise you won't start flinging wild accusations at me, maybe I will."

She scratched her head, "Loki, I already said that I wasn't going to accuse you of cheating anymore. Stop letting your past control your actions. Let it all go. Flowers aren't that expensive, especially when compared to the rings the I bought us. I just wanted to talk to you, and again we argued instead. We both need to learn a little more self control so we an be able to talk about us, as a couple, without it leading to fighting and tears. I really love you, but I've never had a relationship like this before and I'm unsure if that's good or bad yet."

"I just don't like feeling as tho I'm being pressured into anything. It just makes me feel less inclined to want to do whatever it is. Besides, last time I gave into pressure to get married, look at what happened. I want to be really ready before I put myself thru that again. I don't understand why you find that concept so hard to grasp."

"Because I love the idea of getting married, that's why. It's the most romantic thing in the world, proclaiming your eternal love and commitment for one another in front of the people that have seen the relationship flourish into something amazing. Marriage is a very special thing, and it's important to me. It's one thing that shows, above all, that you will always love me for who I am. But you just want me to forget about that, and cast my dreams aside simply because your marriages didn't go as planned. Why didn't they go as planned? Because you didn't love them. If you really loved me, I don't understand why you'd act like marriage is the worst thing to do to a stronger relationship.'

Loki rolled his eyes. "Cuz you just see marriage as a chance for you to wear a posh dress, have a party and get a new piece of jewelry bought for you. You don't see below the surface at all; all you want is the glitter. In any case, if marriage is so special, then explain the high divorce rate."

"I guess not everyone thinks marriage is as special as I do. You're basically calling me shallow, and I don't know why I let you get away with calling me all these things. You're supposed to love me - including my flaws. It seems to me that you're trying to change me so I can fit your fantasy girl, but whenever I try to do the same to you, you shoot me down. Would you rather I be a submissive and quiet stay at home mom or something? You're being a bit sexist, might I say."

"Think what you like; you never listen to a word I say, you just twist them so that you can just play the victim the whole time. I'm just tired of you putting words in my mouth that I never thought and never said."

"I do listen, maybe more then you realise. But since you want a introverted and submissive girlfriend, how about I try and appease you? Just tell me what you want me to do, sir."
