"You love him, but you'd sooner see him suffering for all eternity rather than climb down and admit you were wrong? Doesn't look like love to me. I'm willing to compromise, but only if you admit that you were wrong to sneak around behind my back."

"I'm sorry. I already told you I was. Don't blame Xander. It was really sweet of him to buy me a telescope. It probably cost him a lot, too. Just please change him back soon. If anybody should be punished, it's me. Change Xander back and turn me into an animal. I deserve the shame. My life's already a disappointment."

[Miranda_]

"He kissed you. I saw it all. I'm not stupid, you know. In any case, as long as he behaves himself, I'll change him back in a couple of days as I think he's learned his lesson; and by what you've said, you've learned yours."

[TheHayleyDoll]

"Daddy, please. The kiss was harmless. I'll take the punishment for it. It's not fair for you to be biased in my favour. Xander and I are both to blame for anything that has happened, and if he has to suffer, I should too."

[Miranda_]

"I'm hardly biased; he kissed you and said that he didn't care; therefore it's him that's to blame. If it were the other way round, I'd have punished you. I'm trying to meet you halfway, so stop trying to make me change my mind on this."

[TheHayleyDoll]

"I know, I just feel like Xander's being punished for my actions." Sky sighed. "Anyway, I just came to say I'm sorry. I'll be going back to my room to study some more now."

[Miranda_]

"He's being punished for his actions, not yours. Tell him what I said so that he understands this."

Sky sighed again, and nodded. "Yes, father." And then she left the room.

Xander was asleep in his basket downstairs; he'd been waiting for that nap all afternoon. XD
