She chuckled, and a nasty grin appeared on her face. "They'd regret it if they even dared."

"Of course, a few people who did try found themselves waking up a day later in hospital; if they were lucky."

"For me, it depends... most of he time, they're never seen again." Her red eyes twinkled ominously. "Humans are such fun, frail things to torture."

[Miranda_]

Anubis shrugged indifferently. "I can't be bothered to do anything with them, save remove them from the situation."

"Yes, well, you were preserved by the Sword, and so didn't fade." Hel said. "For my own survival, I became a demoness, and it's pretty much my job to torture people and to tempt them."

Rika finally woke up, ending her nightmare. She was going to make sure that no one would find out about it,and she was also going to make sure she was a bit more kind to Dustin. Mostly for her own safety.

The nightmare must have had an effect on Rika, to effect such a personality change.

Anubis replied to Hel, "Your situation is somewhat different to mine. I only did what was needful, as all humans would come to me in the end."

And it did. Rika had seen Frigg at her worst; after she had lost Baldur forever. Rika knew finally what her father had been warning her about since, in her nightmare, she had seen exactly some of the things she was capable of doing to torture others.

"True enough." Hel said. "While I was the ruler of the afterlife for those who weren't warriors. Until Norse mythology faded, that is. Then I had to change and adapt to the new religious fad; Christianity. I did what was necessary to stay in existence."

This was indeed why Loki had warned his headstrong daughter about Frigg. At the moment, all he could do was simply wait and see what happened; as far as he knew, Rika had ignored his warning. He feared her comeuppance.
