Athena set down the basket and took his hands in hers. "Frigg is... odd, but she does love you." She said. "If you'd seen the way she was when you were a baby, you wouldn't doubt it; she did everything in her power to get you the best of everything, even at her own expense. she probably doens't do it quite as much now because you're older, and she assumes you can mostly care for yourself, and get what she can't give from your father."
"she loves you, but not the memories you bring up." Athena said. "I love your father, but I can hardly blame her; I wouldn't want to remember a time when I was under the influence of a nasty spell like that, either."
"I know what it's like to miss a mom, Dustin." athena said, sighing. "At least yours is still alive, and staying here for as long as she can stand it." She ruffled his hair. "She does love you, but I think seeing the rest of this household drives her mad."
Athena smiled back. "You're welcome. Oh! And know this; I won't favor Xander over you because he's my actual son; if any of my children -step or otherwise- gets out of line, I treat them accordingly. So if he decides to do anything rude, just let me know."
