Nathan sighed and opened the door back to the Hummer. "Rach, I can't do this." He said, as I leaned in to kiss him.
"What...? Why not?! Was it Evelyn? I swear, when she gets back, I'm going to kill her for everything she's ever done to you and me."

I looked out the window, hoping that the phone call didn't mess anything up between Rach and Nathan. "Why did you do that?"

Nathan looked down. "I'll sleep on the couch tonight... I'm going back to the hotel tomorrow."
"What?! Nathan... You aren't making sense!" "I'm making perfect sense. I'm not choosing Evelyn OR you. Right now... I'm just going to be single. Hunter can be the man in the middle, because I can't. It's much too stressful." He walked into the house. I grabbed the phone off the ground and called Evelyn back.
