Kella and Amani Kyaren each pulled back their hair into scruffy and sleek ponytails as they sat to the induvidual tasks of work.
They were twins, would have been triplets, and they looked as unalike each other as a pea to an orange. Amani had bright, silvery blue eyes, with straight red hair reaching past her shoudler blades to the curve of her back. Her skin was was pale, a perfect complexion from head to toe. She was tall, rather slim, a super-model starved figure. Her music was pop, her job was fashion sales. She was living the American Dream. Kella HATED her sister. Kella herself was somewhat pudgy, second place to her all talented sister. She had dark brown hair in an untidy just-above-shoulder length bob, almost black, with silvery green eyes that were the only things she found attractive on her body. In truth, she was attractive, but compared to her sister, Kella felt like a gorgon. This is what led her to cutting, Kella knew scars were ugly, but blood was beautiful. However, Kella was talented in other ways to her sister... "Without heroes we are all plain people and don't know how far we can go." -Bernard Malamud |

Kayte had had no siblings, her mother and father having been divorced when she was a year old for reasons she'd never been properly told, so she didn't know how it was to hate someone you were related to.
Well, in a way, she did. She stood up and walked to the arcade section of the cinema, and shook her head at the shoddy way a twenty-year-old man was playing a shooting arcade game. She pushed him out of the way, put a coin in, and said, "This is how you shoot, dumb@ss." I KNOW THE PIECES FIT, CAUSE I WATCHED THEM FALL AWAY, MILDEWED AND SMOLDERING.

Kella was breaking into a house nearby, but careful not to trip any alarms and attract cop attention. She wanted some money for the arcade, and this was the easiest way to get it.
Amani was floating about the cinema, flirting with the male ushers, assistants and customers, shamelessly moving from one hopeful would be suiter to the next like the flawless social butterfly she was. "Without heroes we are all plain people and don't know how far we can go." -Bernard Malamud |

Kayte saw Amani out of the corner of her eye, and rolled her eyes. Show off. She aimed with the plastic pistol at the screen, and hit some of the virtual zombies without even missing a shot or quavering with the pointer.

Kella entered the arcade, a lot richer then previously.
She immediately headed for the shoot-'em-up booth, waiting for Kayte to end her turn. Amani saw, but ignored her sister to talk to an embaressingly shy son of a sea captain. "Without heroes we are all plain people and don't know how far we can go." -Bernard Malamud |

Kayte beat the high score, and handed the fake pistol to Kella. "Hi.
No matter where she went, she was nice to whoever she met. Unless they acted like Amani; she'd had a few bad run-ins with girls like her, and she wouldn't ever forgive that. I KNOW THE PIECES FIT, CAUSE I WATCHED THEM FALL AWAY, MILDEWED AND SMOLDERING.

"Kella Kyaren." Kella answered shortly, she didn't waste words. She took up position, shooting the holograhic zombies like a pro, evidently using the game to blow off steam.

Kayte watched, a bit stunned. "You're really good at this. I didn't even know there were zombies behind the trashcans and all."

"I've got good eyesight." Kella replied, somewhat friendlier now.
Amani flittered over to Kayte, "Oh, my GOSH! You're Kayte Thomas! I, like, read about you in the papers! You are, like, SUCH an inspiration." Kella rolled her eyes, "Someone, shoot me." "Without heroes we are all plain people and don't know how far we can go." -Bernard Malamud |
