UK Christmas No. 1

BBC News - Military Wives Choir captures Christmas number one

The Military Wives Choir is the UK Christmas number one, beating out competition from the X Factor winners Little Mix.

Well deserved; firstly, all the proceeds are going to charity; secondly, it's their own song written from letters sent to their partners who were serving on the front line and thirdly, it's about time that the X Factor winners realised that they shouldn't rely on getting the Christmas number one when they don't really deserve it.

Do the singers from X Factor usually own the charts? Or is just around Christmas time? Because here the singers from American Idol seem to only find popularity on the show and not in the charts. Interesting and a good story!

Usually, the winner from the X Factor gets the Christmas number one; cept this year and a couple of years ago, when a successful Facebook plot resulted in Rage Against The Machine being Christmas number one with their song "Killing In The Name Of".
