Katy Perry too controversial for Sesame Street?
Katy Perry filmed a sequence with Elmo, but cuz some prudish parents complained, Sesame Street pulled the clip.

'Sesame Street' Pulls Controversial Katy Perry Duet - A-Line: the celebrity style blog - omg! on Yahoo

"Sesame Street" started previewing its 41st season on the Web this week, releasing teaser clips featuring stars like Jude Law,, Colin Farrell, and Run-DMC's Reverend Run. One of the shorts, however, got a lot more attention than the rest: a two-and-a-half minute video of pop star Katy Perry singing a reworked version of her 2008 hit "Hot N Cold" with Elmo. The issue: the perception that Perry's outfit wasn't appropriate for a show geared toward children ages one to six.

After the clip hit YouTube Monday, Gawker ran a story that called attention to the video and Katy's look. Parents checking out the video began leaving critical comments like, "Couldn't she wear something that was more. oh idk. APPROPRIATE" and "I DO NOT want my five year old lookin at [that]!" But, as TMZ notes, Perry wasn't actually half-naked -- her outfit featured a flesh-colored mesh top that went all the way up to her neck, like a figure-skating costume.

This is totally stupid to me. I don't think that the age group who actually WATCHES sesame street would see anything wrong with it because they are too young to understand the sexuality of a woman's cleavage. If anything, they'd think about being hungry or thirsty. xD

In all seriousness, wouldn't Sesame Street had to have given the outfit the "ok", or maybe even picked it out themselves? I'm pretty sure even sesame street has costume designers. I think it's dumb to blame Katy Perry when, if Sesame Street thought it was inappropriate, they wouldn't let her wear it.

Those parents are idiots. It's not like she was dressed up in knee high boots, a mini skirt, and a tube top with a push up bra underneath. She was wearing a dress. You see more inappropriately dressed women in a supermarket.

I looked at the outfit, and to me, it looks more like a Tinkerbell dress up costume; the kind that parents buy their little girls at Halloween.

If anyone's naked, it's Elmo. He's not wearing any clothes at all! XD
