Rage Against The Machine are the UK Christmas Number One with "Killing In The Name", an appropriate Christmas song if I ever heard one.
It came about after a campaign which started on Facebook in an attempt to stop the winner of the X Factor from getting the Christmas Number One again. You see, some of us are getting rather sick and tired of a) Simon Cowell's stranglehold on the UK charts and b) some pathetic reality show winner getting to number one with yet another crappy cover version. I personally supported this campaign, for I am sick to death of X Factor winners automatically getting the Christmas Number One, just cuz all the teenyboppers with no musical taste at all rush out and buy it. So, this result fills me with glee. Simon Cowell, you have been royally pwned. Rage Against the Machine beats X Factor's Joe to Christmas No 1 | Music | guardian.co.uk ![]() |
