Disney's Up
The new movie: Up. I think disney ripped off The 21 Balloons. Though not completely the same. almost the same conscept. Old man goes up in a house using balloons to be alone for a year. Sound familiar? The book was very good; and I am very disapointed at Disney. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread. Anyway, givers, takers?

I think Up is an amazing movie, Pixar movies never disappoint, and they are simply amazing.
Now, I haven't read this book, but based off of the cover and what you said, I don't think that Disney ripped off this book. In Up, The old man travels with multiple balloons and with a little boy for not a long amount of time in a house. In this book, (I'm assuming) the old man travels in a single hot air balloon by himself for exactly one year. Yes, there are some simliarities, but I don't think that Disney ripped off that bokok. |
The book is about an old man who goes up in a house with a bunch of balloons to keep him afloat.

Wasn't Up made by Pixar?
Anyway, I haven't seen the movie yet (nor read that book), though I'm planning to watch it sometime. So far, I've yet to be disappointed by a Pixar movie, but we'll see. |
Yeah, Up isn't Disney; its Pixar.
It was very cute movie and was really cute. ^_^ I love Pixar, too. |
Pixar and Disney sort of work together, i think.
I think I'll read the book, then borrow the movie form my aunt to test this. |
I love this movie.
And Crescent, the idea of moving around with helium balloons has been around for years, ever since helium and hydrogen and all the other light gases were found. They did not 'rip off' that book. |
Disney bought Pixar a little while ago, so they now use "Disney-Pixar's" for Pixar movies.
I liked that movie. Not my favourite animated movie of that year (I LOVED Coraline), but it was quite cute. ^_^ |
