Horror Movies: All gore and no plot?

And like I said with Freddy and Jason, the movies did have a plot, but after a couple movies, the plot doesn't really change much, which is basically like having no plot. It's almost like they didn't have the patience to create a new one. xD

I haven't seen any Stephen King movies, minus The Shawshank Redemption. ^^; I may have seen others, but I can't remember.

I will also make the point that a lot of the old crapola movies, like Phantasm for example, are so bad that they're funny. The rubbish modern movies however are simply unwatchable.

The Mist was a great book... and a freaking horrible movie. They sc'rewed up the ending SO FREAKING HARD. I mean, what, is it too much to ask for them to just end it instead of making the main character kill everybody else, leave the car only to find the military finally showed up?!

I saw The Shining it was nothing like the book I thought it scared me though maybe because I get scared easily I think the mini-series of it was much much better. Has anyone seen Jennifers Body?
