Making up wild stories and telling lies on forums. -

When you post on this board, try to tell the truth at all times, particularly if you're asking for advice. This means to state the facts in a non emotional manner, to state your correct age and to give as much information as you can. It also means not to post wild, untrue stories to garner sympathy and/or attention. Doing this does not make people feel sympathetic towards you; it makes them despise you and is very frowned upon on this forum.
Also, please don't say that you share your account with a sister or friend, then proceed to break the rules in any way. Whether or not you're telling the truth about sharing your account will make no difference whatsoever to your punishment; you will still receive an infraction or banning for constant spamming, flaming or other serious rule breakages.
We know that people on this board have been posting silly, made up stories for this reason; for example, the poster who claimed to have been raped or the poster who claimed her mother had died in prison. There have also been people who've claimed to have given their accounts away in order to pose as other people. Understand this; we know when you are lying, and we will deal with liars very harshly.
We understand too that people do go thru serious issues and this is in no way directed at those who are honestly going thru trauma, just the people who tell lies and make up stories for attention. We have to take precautions to ensure that no-one is drawn into these pathetic attention seekers' lies and also to ensure that anyone who genuinely needs help is not lumped in with them. People who lie about things like this could also be scammers trying to get at poster's personal information, which is another reason why we take a very serious view of this.
