Blindness

Now, I saw this on another board and I thought I might ask you people.

What's it like being blind?

Ask your friends! And tell me what you think blind people see.

It is extremely difficult. You have to use braille and rely on hearing. I belong to the Special Education unit and I have a friend who is completely blind. She requires much assistance and cane. Though she is a very funny person and ever so kind. I love talking to her. She knows me well now

So you're blind? Hm. Now I have a question. Somewhere I read that if you don't have one sense (lets take sight) aren't your senses of hearing, touch, taste, and smell slightly more heightened?

It would be difficult. I'm not sure if I'd rather be blind, or deaf - if I had to choose.

Ergh, didn't have my contacts in. But I'd take deafness. I wouldn't be able to bear with being blind.

Tbh, if you didn't have anything in your life that expressly required eyesight (EG art/drawing/whatever) Then it wouldn't be THAT bad. After all, your other senses apparently sharpen to near supernatural levels.
