Default What do you tell someone.. - 06-01-2009, 11:58 PM

I don't know where this would go, so I made a new thread, apologizies if I shouldn't have, it just felt wrong if I were to post it in the 'Death' thread.

This is going to seem really awkward and out of place, but what do you say to someone that justfound out they only have a month or two left to live?

My friend got told this yesterday, and she was devisated today, I really wanna help, but I don't know what to say or do. I don't know all of the details exactly, just that its something to do with her lack of nourshiment, she's 14 and weighs 83 pounds and is only 5 feet tall. My friends and I have been trying to get her to eat healthy and more often, because we really care for her and would be heartbroken if anything were to happen to her. Please don't tell me that "oh shes looking for attention," because she's not that kinda of person, and she wouldn't do something like that with something this serious. I wanna say that it'll be okay, but I don't know if it will, and if it wont I wouldnt want to say that to her. I don't know what to do, and I feel really bad for her.

Any help would be appreciated and if my making this a new thread was a bad idea, I apologize, but I felt that it didn't entirely deal with death, and the idea of her dying is too much for me to handle.

Hey, nothing's real in this world yet. Whoever said this to her is a big liar, nothing's gonna happen. Well, maybe it can be true, but no one's sure - anyways, I will suggest you must keep giving her healthy food and keep away from an infection etc. and keep faith in god, He will make everything alright but if she has to die then even god can't help it.

Good luck [=

All I can say is tell her that she needs to eat more. Unless it's actually her metabolism that's keeping her so skinny, she may need to go to a hospital. They can help her out.

This is going to sound a little harsh but tell her flat out how you feel, and maybe be a bit blunt about it too. Don't sugarcoat it too much because then she might not take it seriously, but if you are harsher than normal with what you are saying, it might make reality sink in.
