I started shaving about 7 months ago. I started because my hair is very noticeable And I was getting loads of crap from people calling me a werewolf and stuff so I finally got my mom to agree.
I shave my legs, arms, and under arms. I use Bic Soleil razors, and Silk shave gel. If I don't use a shave gel, I get really bad razor rash. I rarely ever get nicked unless my razor needs to be rinsed off. When I shave my under arms, I can't use deodorant for a day because it just gets too sore. I occasionally shave "down there" because it gets tangled (tmi?). But the problem I have with that is that when it grows back, it hurts like the devil! I get so many ingrown hairs and it gets sore and itchy. At first I thought I had cut myself, but the second time I did it with shave gel and everything,, it was still painful. Does any one else experience that? ------- Also, the statement that hairs grows back thicker, darker, and faster, is a myth. It seems to do that because you haven't had hair on your arms/legs for some time and then when it finally becomes noticeable you in fact notice. It's the same hair you shaved off, thickness and all. It was as though the only thing holding my body together was my one burning desire to be better then Kakarott. Sometimes I thought I was losing my mind. Why wasnt I able to obtain what Kakarott had obtained?! It didnt make any sense. It was infuriating and it was my fury that kept me alive."

I have the same problem with ingrown hairs. What you should do the help prevent them is shave the direction the hair goes. Also, I'd suggest using a men's shaving cream. It sounds strange, but I found its helped a bit with the ingrown hair and rash problem. Also, I'd suggest using a scrub down there. Exfoliating has helped a bit and doing all of these things has helped with those issues for me.
If you keep having the rash problem, try going for a shaving cream that moisturizes or is for sensitive skin. I found it was worse for me because my skin gets dry during shaving. Also, don't repeatedly shave over a spot. It irritates it. Invest in a razor with another blade or two if its not getting close enough the first or second time. And make sure you switch blades often. Not doing so actually makes the blade rust/break apart and it'll result in more nicks. You might want to trim instead if its that big of a problem. |

I'm 12, and i wax my legs. Yes, it hurts a little, but i don't have to shave my legs for a month. I use the hot wax, because it hurts much less then the cold one. And they say that waxing makes your hair much "rarer"
