I'm pretty sure you can argue about it with your mom. If your overbite doesn't hinder you in any way, then you're fine. I've got an overbite too, not sure how bad it is but it doesn't bother me an inch except for a mild 's' and 'z' lisp problem.
@Valerie: Gah, I had the tooth-on-top-of-tooth problem, it sucked. Part of one of my baby teeth came out, was replaced by part of the new tooth, and the rest followed a little while after, but now as a result it's slightly out of place. However, you can't really see it unless I pull that side of my mouth open and even then I have to point it out. XD
