Only time I had heartburn was when I was pregnant with my kids. It hurt sooo bad. When I ran out of the heartburn meds I would make myself a glass of water with some baking soda in it. It taste nasty as heck but you will be burping up so much you will be relieved quickly! (wink)

I sometimes get heartburn from super spicy things or really tomatoey things, or if I drink wayyy too much soda.
If that happens, I go straight for an antacid, usually tums; a friend of mine swears they don't work, but for me they do and they always have. But only the "chalky" kind; the chewy ones don't do anything for my heartburn. -.- I KNOW THE PIECES FIT, CAUSE I WATCHED THEM FALL AWAY, MILDEWED AND SMOLDERING.

i always get heartburn i trick my mother used to tell me to get rid of it was to use Peppermint oil and sniff it for a few minutes, also Peppermint tea i think does the same thing. Mylanta the one that comes in the pink bottle works really well and Pepcid for gastro esophageal reflux disease also works really well.
I find that staying away from fried foods and like wolf said soda or anything that has a acidy fizz to it. |
