I have OCD when it comes to my habits before bed; I have to brush my teeth, use the bathroom, tell Dad goodnight, take my pill, put Vicks (vapor rub) on my nose, tell the dog good night, go to bed.
If I don't do at least one of those things I feel weird. A friend of mine told me I'm OCD when it comes to some of my school habits, like writing the same size throughout a paragraph or something, but that actually came from a teacher nagging me about it over and over again. ![]() "Turn and tremble. I think I do have OCD. I get really scared if any doors are open when I go to sleep at night and I have to get up and shut them. I also repeatedly clear my throat and count stairs

I think I may have it because of "intrusive thoughts" but also, this may be a whole different disorder but, I kinda freak out about germs. Like at school I touch my finger in my ear I get Germex. It is because I am like, "I'm not going to wash my hands to kill so and so." >_< I don't wanna go to a counselor.

Unless you are doing these things so much that they interfere in your daily life; for example, not leaving the house til you've touched every bit of wood seven times; washing your hands so often that they bleed; refusing to enter a house until you have jumped on the spot seven times... that kind of thing means you should see a counsellor. Otherwise, it's just normal.
I have certain rituals I have to do, however it's not OCD, merely part of my AS. I get twitchy if I don't start my day a certain way, or have to change my routine. No, you don't get it, that's why I'm telling you. You think you get it, which isn't the same as actually getting it. Get it?

Everyone is obsessive-compulsive. However, like Miranda said, only those who are obsessive compulsive to the highest degree are those that have the 'disorder'.

Well my little bit of OCD is people who touch and go through my things.
Like my backpack, iPod, binder, drawers or bedroom. A boy took my iPod today and started going through my songs and photos and I got really mad and started freaking out, he kind of had to tell me to calm down. I started shaking and I got pretty worked up over it... ![]() ![]() Happy New Years Everyone! Everything by me. |

For example, one person may simply have their morning routines and their day is off if they don't do it exactly. Not intrusive though like being bothered by the order of things and literally obsessing about it until it is adjusted. My obsessive-compulsiveness does actually interfere with my life at times, though it seems to have calmed down now that I am living on my own and can have things the way I need them. The fact that something might be out of order does not bother me as much anymore, though I still do stack and organize things in order to maintain a flat surface and by size/alphabetical order. Overall, its become more organizational than instrusive now since my quirks don't bother me in public settings or at friends' places. |
