If your period is highly irregular, or all of a sudden stops coming you should see your doctor if it persists for more than a month or two. You should also go if you're experiencing more-than-normal bleeding during your period, especially (but not only) if hair is growing in places it normally doesn't or more than it normally does in an area, like around the lips, arm hair, nose hair, belly hair, etc. My numerous doctor visits have explained two things: 1.) My testosterone levels were slightly elevated. This MAY have caused me to have an irregular or missing period, but it's not likely since elevated levels tend to mean an abnormal excess of bleeding during menstration. 2.) I have ovarian cysts. I never even knew I had these and would never have known if I'd stayed on the Birth Control. I have a few small ones on each ovary and they think one of the cysts have burst (*shiver* and gross, but I honestly didn't feel it if it did or notice unusual discharge). I don't know anything about ovarian cysts or the seriousness of the issue, but it scares the hell out of me. I want to be a mother someday soon and the idea of my reproductive organs having something wrong with them is really freaking me out. On my report it said that the left ovary measured 3x2.3 cm and the right measured 3x2 cm. There were a few "follicular cysts" apparent in each ovary without "typical pattern of the cysts, but still raising question of possible Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome". The one that ruptured or is leaking was still within physiological limits of 'normal'. My doctor is sending me to an endocrinologist (a hormone specialist) to find out more and see about treatment for my amenorrhea (no period). No doubt there will be more blood tests and such. But other than that I have no idea what's going to go on at that doctors appointment. Just letting everyone know to keep an eye on their periods and that having one is a GOOD thing. Lack of one could mean several health problems. I must say though...they put me on some medicine that would make me start my period right? I can't tell you how unnerving it was to see blood again. It was like the stress of my first period all over again. Wierd how a 4-month delay can make you forget the normalness of having a menstral flow No one ever told me about periods. So when I first started mine I was freaking out and thought that I was either A.) Pregnant from my first kiss...yes I was an uneducated child obviously. or B) Dying xD. I waited 3 days before finally going to my mother. When she had explained everything I was SO embarrassed. Of course the first thing she did was call everyone and tell them. ![]() Please have a look at my Shop! Help a girl out, keep me in mind, and share link with your friends and parents!

After I stopped it took 45 days until I got my period again. (before I started taking it, my cycle was 26 days) Then when I did get it, I had the worst cramps I EVER had in my life. After a few months of irregularity, my cycle came back to normal. |

Mine are slightly irregular, but then again I don't keep track. xD I was just happy to start mine last week so I won't have it for the first days back at school! (I hate having my period when I'm at school! So inconvenient and annoying..)
Mine is five days long. First day is okay with slight cramping and major headache, second day is awful with mild headache, third day is fine with no pain, fourth day is very light and fifth day is pretty much gone. Some days it tricks me though and the fourth day will be bad like it's starting all over again. -.- My friend had no period for about five or six months until she went on BC to regulate it because she was getting worried there was something wrong with her. |

Im a sad excuse of a 14 year old. I finally decided that I was sick of pads and I wanted to try tampons(my sister has some) but I didn't know how to put one in, so I looked it up(there's vids on how to do it..ew?) anyways, so I looked it up but I couldn't even figure out where it was supposed to go, or even what side to put in. I figured it was the bigger side, but I got to scared to even try.

The part where the string is coming out of is the part that DOES NOT go in. Prop one leg up on the toilet, hold the tampon with your pointer finger on the stringed end and insert without pushing the two pieces together, using the top most tube to push. Once the tampon is inside to where your finger is about to go in, push the string end of the cardboard or plastic in. Once it stops or meets the other tube, pull out the outer tubes by the outer tube, but leave the tampon and it's strig inside. If afterwards it's uncomfortable to sit down, pull it out by the string and try again with a new one. You will not be able to feel a tampon at all if it's in there correctly or "far enough". Once you get used to inserting and you get less tense (btw, relax your muscles as you put it in, that makes a HUGE difference!) then you'll almost always be able to do it quickly and correctly in one swift instinct of movement. Hope that helps? And don't worry. My first time trying to insert a tampon I tried 3-4 times before quitting. Mostly because my mother was getting frustrated with me xD It takes time to get used to or learn, but you can do it! Also, you might look to getting a new box (unless your sister still has what I'm about to suggest). Most tampon boxes contain a very thorough instruction pamphlet. Most good ones even include a diagram to show you. I know Tampax Pearl has a very good pamphlet. And btw, plastic tampons glide in easier. They're all I ever use. ![]() Please have a look at my Shop! That helps a TON! Thank you xD
My sister got rid of the box, sadly. I was planning on asking my mom if we could go get one, but looking it up seemed far more convenient xD and I do believe the only time my sister doesn't have the plastic ones is when we're traveling and cardboard kind is all she can get (I only know this because the trash bin is right where you see everything in it -_-) ![]() "Are you my mummy?" Tampons should fit, no matter what the size; after all, where they go is designed to push out a baby which is definitely a lot bigger than a tampon. You're probably just not putting them in properly. Over here, you can get mini tampons with cardboard applicators which first time users use; go to your chemist and ask if they've got anything like that.
There should also be instructions included as far as application goes. Lock yourself in your bathroom and give yourself plenty of time, and you should get the hang of it. I only use tampons if I've got my period and want to go swimming; I just don't really like them cuz pads are more convienient as far as I'm concerned. ![]() |
