I also get quite gassy when I have my period. O.o I don't know why, but I guess it's not abnormal.
Also, I'd like to mention that swimming while you have your period is not really a good idea. You're more prone to getting a Urinary Tract Infection when swimming while you have your period. Pools are dirty, no matter how much chlorine there is in there. Women are always at risk of getting UTI while swimming in pools, but you're even MORE SO when you have your period. So maybe a tampon would be a very good idea, it'll provide some blockage. Also, I don't get cramps when I have my period. But my lower back hurts like a b*tch! Especially about a week before I actually get my period. |

I find that if I'm badly sick before a period (as in generally ill with something), I'm not as crabby because I'm so exhausted. XD But other than that my mood swings vary from month to month; sometimes I'm as normal, other times I'm about ready to tear someone's face off. O.o

You can't catch an infection from swimming; that is what all the chlorine is for in swimming pools. However, you might be a bit more tender down there, and might feel a bit sore from the chlorine; it depends on the girl, really. It's like the rumour that you can catch STDs from toilet seats; believe me, you can't.

Before you have your period usualy you will have a stomache and headaches. Its not the greatest of a time to be in. Not to fun either but yet you should ask someone who is older in your family to learn how. How i started off was itll be a day or two, then the next hit gets longer. Keep track of the dates then your next period will be around then. but dont be affraid to ask your family. Girls are suppose to have periods. Its a gift from mother nature l.o.l :]

Okay, so I used to hate the Always brand of pads because they felt like plastic and felt like diapers and usually were 3+ inches thick.
Their new line of pads, Infinity, is AMAZING. It's soft, it's super thin and extremely absorbent. It's made so that the blood and other tissue is absorbed through the top into the lower layers of it, but it doesn't pool on the top (which usually causes the 'icky feeling' a lot of girls I know complain about). Plus, it's thin enough that you barely even know you're wearing it; I was wearing it when I went to sleep one night and the next morning, I'd completely forgotten I was wearing a pad, or that I was even on my period! O.o 'Course, then I went to the bathroom, saw the pad and a little bit of blood and then I remembered, but the point is that Always has apparently changed how they make their products and I can definitely say that if you have trouble with your periods being heavy, you should definitely give Always Infinity a shot. (Get the Super one, think that's the biggest one. And get the ones with wings.) I KNOW THE PIECES FIT, CAUSE I WATCHED THEM FALL AWAY, MILDEWED AND SMOLDERING.
