Its the palette really. I shade with tons of different colours first so I know the shading is right, then I create the palette and recolour. If I feel the colours are too far apart, I then pull in the difference more. I think for the dress and hair this time it was about 6-7 luminosity difference with 7 shades for the dress and 6 or 7 for the hair. Usually I work with about 8 in difference for luminosity.
How's that for complicated? xD I've been making my own palettes for so long, I just never really think about the softness now. |

![]() Quick little pixel pocket watch I tossed together for our forum. Nothing much really, just haven't been inspired to do much other than pixel work. I've been thinking about a flapper and hitman duo for a while, but they just haven't materialized as dolls yet. Sometime soon they will, once I do some more research since I've feeling some great ideas brewing after seeing Public Enemies(I love the gangsters, what can I say?). |

![]() Base: Amarylis - Dolls Mrs. Lovett for the handdrawn contest. I'm thoroughly pleased with her, which is funny since I've been hating this doll from the beginning. Now though I can pursue my new idea |

I love Sweeney Todd. It's one of my favourite musicals, and the movie is great too. ^_^
She looks so scary. XD I love it. The face edit turned out well. My only CC is that it could use a tiny bit more contrast. I have my computer's contrast at 100, and it's still a little hard to see the shading. I like the fishnets, too. My fishnets always turn out looking like crap. xD [Visit my dA]

The ever returning contrast. Its always because I see it on paint and think that the contrast looks ugly, so I steadily make the difference between my palette colors smaller and smaller xD I really need to stop it.
Fishnets aren't all that difficult, you just need to figure out a pattern that works. I used to make the spaces smaller, but I found making wider ones works so much better. |

![]() Base: DHF : Doll on the Hill Factory I'm very pleased with this. I originally had darker skin, but ended up changing it to make the hair blend better. Love all around. |
