Your mermaid is so pretty Elanorea. I absolutely adore the colors you chose, and the fin and tail are so stunning! I really like that you added scales to other parts of her body as well. However, artistic nudity isn't really my thing, and while I understand the concept of it, I think scales on the breast would have been more visually stunning that bare-breasted, but that's really only my preference, not critiques.

Made this for the Mortal Kombat contest, it's supposed to be this character. Have I mentioned how much I hate shading black, especially if it's supposed to be look shiny? Her right thigh nearly killed me, and it still looks like crap. The lighting on this doesn't make a lot of sense either.

That is amazing. And on your own base. Wow. I remember making a dollmaker Frost (and thinking about maybe trying a handdrawn version), but this is really amazing and would blow anything I could create out of the water right now. Do you shade in black right off the bat, or do you use a high-contrast palette and than desaturate it? I've heard that can help when shading dark/black clothing, but you probably already knew that.

Thanks! I've tried that desaturation thing once or twice, actually, but I guess I just feel more comfortable with my own shading style, as cumbersome as it is :P.

Made this a while ago actually, reason I haven't posted it until now is that I'm no good at large bases and the shading on her dress looks like crap. Was planning to touch it up a bit, but I'll probably never get around to it . Still, I do like her hair.
