Hayley's Handrawns 4: Return of the Pixel Art

I really liked your mermaid doll Hayley! (And I too am a fan of Chibi and non-realistic bases). The tail and fin were amazing, and I adored all the little extras you slipped in as well. The colors were unexpected, but refreshing, so yay for that too.

My critiques are small. I prefered the non-flowy hair. I find that the flowy hair reminds me too much of my Mary Sue critique, that the strands look like tenticles and aren't as smooth as the non-flowy hair. The background is cute, but I found that wonky tower completely distracting, however, that's more personal preference than critique.

I still can't get over the face paint. I'll have to try that on a doll sometime, it's really stunning!

Example for the handdrawn contest - Dog Breeds! I did the dalmation, because I've loved them ever since I watched 101 Dalmations when I was little. ^_^

LOVE the doll, the boots and the hair especially! Dalmations were never a favorite of my own (toy breeds being my preference) but my husband's family had 2 dalmations, one passed away recently though.

New doll! I've decided I'm going to do a whole series of video game characters on this base. (BTW, it's the same as above).


First Vanille (from FF13) and now Faith, from Mirror's Edge. Faith is a Runner - The Runners are an illegal underground courier service that transports confidential governments away from government surveillance (running on the roofs, using the art of parkour). In the game, you have "runner-vision", which turns anything you can use to progress in bright red (hence the pipes, ledge, and ramp). I suggest this game to all of you. =P

As for the doll, the background is crummy and unshaded, but I just wanted something because she felt too dull without it. The doll itself though, I really like. ^_^

I recently bleached my tips and the shaved side of my head is growing in. Other than that, not much has changed since my last self-portrait doll.

So excited that the contest was doing a doll on my base! Super cool. Even though I just won, I couldn't ignore dolling me or my own base. ^_^

Because I was stupid and deleted my tutorials off my computer, I had to make new ones to post in the tutorials section. It's ok though, because I think both these dolls are super cute! =D

That's a cute doll! I just can't get over how much detail you're able to squish into the clothing. I'm still trying so hard to get that down!
