a palette is a range of colours used by many artists.it includes several different shades of the same colour.for example this is a hair palette used when making,shading,highlighting and more.I found it on Watermelon Bubblegum

There are many tuts on how to use pallettes. Watermelon bubblegum (linkes above) has some good ones that people favor, the Dollery has some (find hers under "goodies"), and even even Kawaii Hannah has one (go to "pixel Art", and there's a purple link on the pisel art home page). These teach you about some of the basics of shading using pallettes, and more specific things.
