For hair like that, you should probably use a three-four colour premade palette. It'll give the right amount of contrast that way.

ugh I was happy until I got to the hair and now I hate it >.>

The hair isn't that messed up. I like it. =)
The doll on the whole is absolutely great! I'm so glad my tutorials were of such help! Compare those to your first few and you'll see such a difference. I did, and this doll really shows improvement! [Visit my dA]

The shaping on the hair and clothing is excellent, but there are some flaws in the shading.
When shading hair, parts behind the head should be darker than those on top because of shadows caused by a body and the other hair. Also, when doing strands, you should shade dark near the part, then lighten them up, then darken again when you reach the ends or around the ear area for hair that is up. Watermelon Bubblegum has a really great explanation of the strand concept. The shading on the shirt and pants is good, but one thing to remember is that a fold doesn't go all the way across your stomach. It makes it look striped and I doubt that was your intentions. Otherwise, good job  You should try adding some accessories to spice it u a bit.
