Hand-drawns of the Spirit Realm!!! XD

Okay, dorky name, I know.
PLEEEEAAASE, before you comment on anything I post here, comment on the things at my Elfwood Account! There's a comment button, I'd like some more comments. I feel so lonely there.

Alright, I'll admit; I've only done one actual doll and the rest are just random pictures I drew. Sorry! I am currently working on my own bases, so I will post 'em here. Okay, first doll!

And here's a link to my Dream Wedding Dress!!

CC is always appreciated! Luffs ya!

I think that you should try pixel shading :3
You know a LOT about tool shading, a whole lot more than me, ish true, but me wants to see you pixel shade ;O
Other than that your art is AWESOME. ^^;
You always seem to get the body porportions right >_>

Thank you, Chiisan! ^^ Yeah, I truly ought to use pallettes, eh? Oh, here's my newest doll!

If Chiisan isn't making elements, I am, using her bases! These ones are in her Handdrawn Doll Contest Thread.
So, here's EARTH!

Her eyes don't have enough depth, her hair looks all stuck together, as if wet. I still have a lot to learn... Oh, well!

noirmali 08-01-2007 03:54 PM

Hey! I drew those eyes :3
jk, jk.
Save in PNG next time!
It's clearer than JPG, hence the reason why all of my dolls are not blurry.
You can remove my siggy you know :3
Haha...Earth...xD Dunno why I'm laffing, I...just am XD
I guess that you're not gonna try doing pixel shading, then? ;[

spirit_queen 08-01-2007 04:03 PM

I will! Like I asked in your contest, send me some site links for good pallettes, and I'll give this thing a try... I'm a little scared, though... first timer! >.<

Anywho, still working on my bases, while trying to catch up on Summer Reading!

Very nice!

A little suggestion though:
I think the new doll's hair (the earth element) would look better on a different base... What it looks like now is that the body and hair are from two separate pictures. You want it to look as if it all goes together.
Your shading style is rather realistic, as is with most tool shading, so I suggest either a more realistic base choice (instead of the anime-esque one you chose). Or another option would be to re-shade the base to match your style (if the base maker allows that).
Then I think your dolls would be near perfect. ^^

Thank you, I feel sort of pecial, now! ^^
Although you're right, I have no idea where one could find deeply-shaded dolls, so I guess my dolls should now have a lighter style of shading?
Hmm... I'll look around, 'n' stuff! XD

Okay! First pixelled doll! YAY! This is my roleplay character, Psyche. If you know you're Greek Mythology, Psyche was a human promoted to being a Goddess after marrying Eros/Cupid. ^^ I like the colors for the hair, but I made the shading funny, somehow...

The base is from [| m a g i c l e s s o n s |]

*squeal*
See? You do fine with pixel shading! ^^
But you half-shaded along the base with the dress...Something that you SHOULDN'T do.
;P
Good job!
Very nice! ^^
