MBTI Personality test
 

How many of you have heard of the MBTI or Meyers Brigs personality test. It's supposed to be extremely accurate and reflect how you operate and think at a base level. It breaks down the 4 base components of a personality and then creates 16 personality profiles from that. I've personally found my MBTI personality profile(INTJ) to be extremely accurate. Way more-so than anything I've seen with astrology. The online tests are definitely not the most accurate, but I think it'd be fun to see what other people on this forum are.

Honestly, it depends on my mood the day I take it. I've been ENFP and INFJ. I think the latter was more accurate at one point, but I've become much more social and extraverted thanks to things like speech team. I'm a psych major, so I've seen this test a lot. I'll probably see it again next semester when I take Theories of Personality, lol.

Belladoggy, as a psych major, what do you think of the MBTI test? Any major downfalls, or is it pretty much uncannily correct?

I don't think there is such thing as a personality test without major downfalls; they are all very subjective. However, I think the Meyers-Briggs is the most widely accepted. We did an exercise in one of my classes that made us all seem really dumb because it was testing us on something we knew nothing about, because it was based on common knowledge in India or something. Psych is very subjective, and people will stretch their results to match their own lives; it's why fortune telling works. But all that aside, yeah, I think it's about as accurate as it can be, and certainly more so than other tests out there like the Rorschach (inkblot) test.

I think if someone tried the inkblot test on me, I'd say it was something awful, like someone being murdered, just to freak out the psychologist. :lol:
