I'd have an accent anywhere in America...

Thou over here the difference between states is a little less drastic. It's sometime, it's possible to tell where people are from via their accent but sometimes it's downright hard. But you probably get that anywhere in the world.

hen a friend of mine visited Australia, all the people there got all excited and she said they'd tell her to say things so they could listen to her American accent.

I fear that happens a lot, when someone with another accent appears we all begin to terrorize them XD

I have a friend with a New-Zealand accent and she's asked to say fish and chips a lot...

Oh, dear. XD I can do a pretty good Aussie accent, no idea what people from New Zealand sound like, though... I can also do English, Scottish, Indian (real Indians, not Native American), Southern American, New Jersey... I can't do Irish, which drives me nuts. I want to do Irish so bad! But every time I try, I sound Scottish...

OH! I can do French, too, knew I was forgetting one. XD My Scottish is great, but it makes it hard for me to do Irish; I can tell the difference if I listen, but when I go to speak it it... fails rather epically.

We were watching a Scottish crime-fiction show last night actually, the cool accents are a plus.

I squeal when I watch anything in which the actors speak with an accent other then north American... (Canadians sound just about the same as 'mainstream' American).

So many of our television shows over here are British and American, so it's funny to actually watch Australian films from time to time and hear actors speaking with these really rough Australian accents XD
