Gaia had a similar game for their summer event two years ago called Frontier Skies; I completed it with all the guides on both my mule account and my main. While no-one ever died of dysentry, there were worse fates in store; one of the random events was that one of your crew chases a moth, falls off the airship and dies. The moth escapes unharmed.

I never got to play Oregon Trail as a kid either, my first exposure to it was the "you have died of dysentery" meme . After that I tried it out, made it to the end with only one person left.

If that game is based on reality, makes you wonder how anyone got to populate the US if they all kept dying whenever they tried.

And it's compounded by the fact the government apparently made it for "educational purposes." Apparently, the rulership had sense back then!

Tho, there was a part of it that was funny; the bit where you have to type in your fave food to the guard. I and my friends always used to be incredibly immature and type in "bum" or "poo" just so we could laugh when the guard said, "My favourite food is poo, it always makes me sneeze!"
