Aaron, I googled to see what you were talking about, that picture is very fake. In fact, if you scroll down results more for "Osama Bin Laden Dead" (warning, graphic pictures!), you can see comparisons where they show how it was done. Brilliant, but all they did was merge two pictures (one of which was very obviously not him) and flip it so it'd be a bit more difficult to figure out. No real pictures have been released yet and lord knows when they will be.

My understanding is he had to be buried within 24 hours for faith purposes. Very little time to find someone to accept the body and there would be issues anyways with turning it over. Who would they give it to, the Pakistani government? The burial at sea was the easiest solution that still paid respect to his beliefs and body.

Not one of the nicer google image searches, to be sure. I imagine security everywhere in America will have doubled overnight with this news, in regards to the risk of retaliation attacks although they've issued warnings in countries such as Indonesia as well from what I hear.

Which just shows that the people that Osama and his followers consider enemies have far more respect for Osama's beliefs than he does for theirs. The US Army could easily have burned the body and spat on Osama's beliefs; but chose not to.

Osama bin Laden raid yields trove of computer data - Mike Allen - POLITICO.com <- This might be an even more significant blow to terrorism than the death of Bin Laden in itself. Just have to hope there's some useful information in there, not just p0rn and lolcats.

I'm actually disappointed. There's a comedy news show called the Colbert Report done here and they talked about the harddrives, but didn't make a single po.rn joke. So sad, I was waiting for it the whole time.

So, no picture. I think Obama made the right decision, there is no real benefit. The critics will claim its a fake and it will infuriate people. I'm glad he also considered that it was insensitive. We'd be upset if a dead soldier was plastered all over the media, we should show the same respect.
