Default Japan nuclear alert and earthquake - 03-14-2011, 04:19 PM

Please discuss everything pertaining to the terrible disaster here. If you need any information, read the link below.

Japan nuclear alert and earthquake - Saturday 12 March part two | World news | guardian.co.uk

I think it's a horrific disaster to happen; not just the earthquake, but the tsunami and the risk of nuclear fallout, as well. This is a tragedy.

I think it's horrible. But we know Japan can get over this. We just have to do what we can to help. If someone cant donate, pray as much as they can and spread the word.
I believe in the healing power of music. I'm learning the dance for Seishun Collection by Morning Musume for Japan.
This cover really means alot to me and I want it perfect. Japan is what got me more into Asia and it's my favorite. I want to make them proud and give all of Japan hope. I know they can rise from this.

Gaia have a charity item up; if you buy it, all the proceeds go to Japan.

My mom and I feel so bad for them; it's one thing after another, without and break for recovery time. Once it started, it kept on going.

Since I don't get on Gaia, I doubt I'll contribute that way, but I'll probably contribute another way.

The only good thing I can see coming out of this is that Japan will be better prepared in the future.

If that reactor goes meltdown, the disaster will go straight from Satan's fault to Cthulhu's fault. We can only hope that it stays stable. X_X

This is doing nothing to help my suspicions for 2012, of course. >_>; Durn apocalypses.

If it's any consolation, Japan's nuclear disaster is rated four on the scale. Chernobyl is rated seven. Also, Aaron and I are at least safe; Japan is further away from us than the Ukraine is. O_o

A lot of very ignorant people are throwing Chernobyl around like nobody's business, when they don't even know what they're talking about. Japan's disaster is nothing like Chernobyl.

Also, what's really getting on my wick about this is the ignorant Yanks who are saying that this is payback for Pearl Harbour. That's crap. Ever hear of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, idiots? In any case, Japan aren't evil. Let's do a little comparison. After Hurricane Katrina, there was widespread looting and mayhem. In Japan right now, people are not looting; they are instead helping each other and shops are reducing prices. Big difference.

My thoughts exactly. The key difference here is that Chernobyl had no containment structure, while the plant in japan actually has. Quote; "This is nothing like a Chernobyl," said Murray Jennex, a nuclear expert at San Diego State University.

Thisthisthis. "Oh, this is karmic payback for Pearl Harbour!" "Those thermonuclear explosive devices and massive incendiary bombardments were totally pu'ssy, yo."

Also, the end of World War II caused a massive amount of death in Japan comparable to this earthquake and tsunami. Incendiary bombs are extremely dangerous, due to causing fire. The bombardment with incendiaries in Tokyo destroyed 50% of the city, and also resulted in roughly 100,000 deaths. And that's just Tokyo. And no thermonuclear weapons were used in Tokyo. =/
