I remember taking horse riding lessons the summer going into my 6th grade year. But that was around mid 2000s. I remember bookbags with the wheels! I carried mine until middle school. My very first bookbag, though, was a multi-colored doll bag. It had like a Raggedy Ann's Doll face on the back. She had red hair. I still have it even though it' s worn..I refuse to let it go!

This fits this topic, I think. XD

Remember when...

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs & paid $3.50 for a movie.

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

Also...

Tag.

Hide-n-Go Seek at dusk.

Red Light, Green Light.

Heads Up 7 Up.

Playing Kickball & Dodgeball until your porch light came on.

Hopskotch.

Slip-n-Slides.

Tree Houses.

Mother May I?

Red Rover.

Four Square.

Hula Hoops.

The annoying Nano Pets & Furbies.

Playing Street Hockey with the neighborhood friends.

Running through the sprinklers.

Happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car.

Getting the privelage to sit in the front seat of the car.

Watching Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in your Garfield comforter.

Hey Arnold, Doug, Rugrats.

The original Power Rangers

The Secret Life of Alex Mac.

Ren & Stimpy.

Double Dare.

Rocko's Modern Life.

AAAHH!! REAL MONSTERS.

Clarissa Explains it All.

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Kenan & Kel.

Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.

Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school.

Class field trips.

POGS

Finally...

When Christmas was the most exciting time of year.

When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.

When Toys R Us overuled the mall.

Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming 'do over!'

'Race issue' ment arguing about who ran the fastest.

Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly'.

It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends.

Being old referred to anyone over 20.

A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery.

The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties.

Nobody was prettier than Mom.

Nobody was cooler or stronger than Dad.

Scrapes & bruises were kissed & made better.

It was a big deal to finally be tall enought to ride the 'big people' rides at the fair.

When playing Nintendo was the hardest thing ever.

When Ninja Turtles ruled the world.

If you can remember most or all of these than you have lived in the 90's!

We definitely played Heads Up 7 Up in my math class last wednesday...but no one was wearing loud, obnoxiously obvious pants like track pants or corduroys, so I didn't guess right

also, it's really weird seeing Keenan on SNL because I remember him from "All That"...which was like SNL for 10 year olds. Man, I used to love watching that and "The Amanda Show". Amanda Bynes was hilarious.

Of course, I was born in '93, but that doesn't really make me a '90s child because it was mostly my infancy...your childhood is really in the decade AFTER your birth...because most of the stuff I remember is from the 2000s, aka, first grade started in 1999. I was six.

I was born '91, so I do count. XD When I cheated at 7 Up Heads Up, I memorised the shoes. 'Course, I was usually frustrated by that game because the popular kids always chose each other and I was considered a nerd, so I only ever got picked by the people who considered me a cute sort of nerd...

Does anyone else remember the cloud ballerinas? They were these ballerina dolls that had wings, and if you pulled a string they'd spin around in the air briefly. I think there was a cartoon about them, too. They were a big-ass deal when I was a kid, I wanted one soooo badly .

And I remember so many things off that list XDD.

I remember those! I wanted one SO badly, but we were too poor... I was super excited to get the mini-version from McDonald's though! I never saw the cartoon though. I think I remember commercials for it though???

I had two of them! I didn't know that was what they were called, though. I had a dragonfly one and a butterfly one, and the thing they flew out of was this green tree...they took the place of Barbies for me

EDIT: I looked it up; they're actually called "Sky Dancers"
<---That's one of the ones I had. I loved the "zwoosh"-y noise they made

Those toys were apparently deadly. XD

10 Most Dangerous Toys of All Time!

Quote:
Injuries included scratched corneas and temporary blindness, mild concussions, broken ribs and teeth, and facial lacerations that required stitches. Nearly nine million Sky Dancers were eventually recalled, leaving aspiring ballerinas to earn their battle scars the old fashioned way, with an eating disorder.
The most dangerous toy I had was a cap gun. XD Seems that I should have had a Sky Dancer instead.

But I never got hurt with one. XD The kids who did probably lacked common sense and either used them horridly incorrectly or tried something dangerously stupid. XD
