Friend Requests and other rantage.

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but never have gotten round to it. Some people seem to think that if a person is a mod, then they automatically have to accept random friend requests from people. That is not true. Nor do I have to accept requests from anyone who I don't consider a friend. If you have only just signed up here, you may think that you want to friend me, or other mods, for some reason or another; but take it from me, it's a bad idea. If I don't know you, I won't accept your request. And believe me, whether you're my friend or not, if you break the rules you will still end up in big trouble.

Let me put this in understandable words for anyone who's having trouble with this concept. This is not directed at anyone personally, but is a general rant at the whole friending system. Say you were walking down the street with your friends and a complete stranger walzed up to you and said, "OMG! Want to be bestest friends forever?!" I really doubt you'd agree to be friends with this complete stranger who you've never met and know nothing about. The same goes for on here. Also, mods are not required to friend anyone or be nice to people who are being rude and abusive.

My other rant is with the RPs. A lot of people seem to be labouring under the delusion that if they spam my RPs, then I will want to friend them. No no no. Especially if I have spent a lot of time working on an RP. The last thing I want to do is have to go thru RPs deleting noob spam or posts from people who try to join private or closed RPs when they are not allowed to. Some people also think that the RPG forum rules are too strict. There's actually a good reason for that.

Once upon a time, the rules in the RPG forum were relaxed and general. People could post whatever RPs they wanted. This happy state of affairs continued til one day... when a few people decided to post loads of near identical RPs, with near identical characters in them, and with thin plots. The RPG forum got clogged up, with people complaining cuz their RPs were getting shoved down to the third page. I was forced to take drastic action; I banned all new RPs from being posted. This rule was up long enough for things to calm down and enough of the RPs to end up inactive; then, the current rules and restrictions were posted.

I am not being mean, horrible or cruel by posting this; I just wanted to get a few things off my chest and this is a healthier way to do it rather than just punching the wall. XD Once again, this is aimed at no-one personally; it's just a general rant so there's no need for anyone to get butthurt over it. ^^

Don't be a whiny nasty annoyance if a mod doesn't accept your friend request, and don't be calling them nasty names either as it's rude, obnoxious, etc., and can get you easily banned depending on words used and the frequency of the harrassment.

There was a user banned last year for this. >_<

I've had about five people asking me to be their friend, and get nasty when I refused. Ugh.

Plus, it is quite annoying when people don't read the rules-even tho most are common sense- and you have an RPG that you and a friend have been RPG'ing together for a while its over 1200 pages long and then someone just pops in. Its like.."Are you kidding me? What a dumbarse!"

Tacking on more complaints, I'm tired of being "sued". Just because I'm a horrible list of curse words does not mean I am intimidated by your threats to get millions. I don't have money, please get that through your thick skulls.

Also, I'm not the owner already. Stop complaining to me about site problems because I have no way to fix them. If you want to complain about the forums, fine and dandy, but I can't wave my magic wand and fix most of the things here either(besides policy, which you all know I'm crazy about).

Finally, if I see one more person complaining about the comments rule I will rip their heads off. It is in place because we are sick of going through hundreds of pages when you guys fight. Also, if you are fighting, regardless of whether or not the comment has mysteriously disappeared, you will be punished. I don't care who you are, I'm tired of people banding together again to flame each other. This is exactly why I dislike the friend system.

Agreed. I also get sick of people moaning to me about site problems, when I'm only a super mod on forums. No, I don't mind if there's a forum problem you're concerned about; anything else, PM support.

Here's a rant about friending people from me:

DON'T SEND ME A FRIEND REQUEST UNLESS I KNOW YOU. I don't care if you read my posts, if I've never had a conversation with you in a thread (as I don't accept PMs from non-friends), I WILL NOT FRIEND YOU, END OF STORY. I've had it officially up to my eyeballs this morning because I had yet another random friend request.

STOP TRYING TO FRIEND MEEE!!!!

I am so glad you posted this topic Miranda_ . Myself not being a mod but being another member is getting overwhelmed with friend requests . I have not had it to the point where they have threatened me but either or its not fun. I hope this thread you made would make people stop cause its not a pleasant experience. Plus the mods are great people on here and don't deserve that because they are real people too. No one on here would do that in real life. I mean who would go up to some one ask to be friends and get turned down and threaten to sue them. Think what your saying before doing so. Plus posting around the forums gains you so much more friends then just seeing how many random ones you can get in one day.

I am sick and tired of people turning threads into chat threads. It's not just here either, it's on other major boards I've been on as well. Here, it's fairly controlled, but elsewhere it's a NIGHTMARE because nobody listens to the moderators.

Also, this is more of a YouTube rant here, but my freaking god, if you hate a type of music DON'T GO POSTING "Omg lolflfoflflffooolflf i h8 dis musc ur all g*y!!!!! rap 4uverrrrr" or whatever! Same applies to the rap haters, don't go posting 'rap= retards attempting poetry" as that just makes you seem like an immature little brat! I seriously lost my head yesterday because this ass-wipe was calling Metallica and other famous rock bands every demeaning word under the sun and decrying it, and yet was supporting gangsta-rap.

Yeah, I totally blew up on that guy... Thank god for the block system there.
