It's mostly noobs I'm referring to.
The tips apply to Newbs too of course, but they generally already use them. It's called common sense in their case.

I just want to say THANK YOU! I've tried making something to this affect in the Meeting/Newbie forum but it kinda just got pushed back. Hopefully this will stay!

Being single doesn't make you weak, it means that you are strong enough to be on your own; Being alone could be a good thing, because there is no drama involved in your life, no pain, and free to do what ever you want. Life is too short to be chasing those who aren't even worth fighting for, you are worth more than that.

I commend you for making a thread that they might actually read. Everytime I direct them to FAQ they seem to think I'm joking. Which reminds me, I have to add a section on friending people and how mods aren't required to do it for anyone.

By the way folks, threatening to sue is the stupidest threat to use against a mod. Really, as if some court is going to side with you because we punished you fairly or denied your friend request.

Exactly. Even if you approached a lawyer, they'd more than likely laugh you out of the office. Same goes for threatening to tell your mum; please, just grow up and understand that the sun is the centre of the galaxy, not you.

Sorry..... I try to look up words on here in my dictionary. Noob isn't in there so I never really understood the concept of a Noob but thank you for explaining it to me now

*looking around* So those rules are very good... I know I don't like it when people always write in caps. It's so annoying!

Default Feel free to "friend" me - 01-17-2009, 10:14 PM

Exactly."
Regarding this, not only would relatively newer people such as myself feel discouraged from "friending" others, those who've been here for a longer time would not "friend" the new people. Because the comparison cited above sounds discouraging--none of us would like to be considered "some loon."

So how do people here (other than those who've already come in bringing friends with them, or already know people here) make friends?

Feel free to "friend" me. I promise you I won't think you're a "Loon."

Sure God created Man before Woman--but don't you always make a rough draft--before the final masterpiece?

Once you post around and get into discussions, you meet people who share the same interests as you and such.

I am quite friendly to the newer people, it's just when they think harassing is normal that they get on my nerves.

Not only are you viewing insults where there are none, just like last time; you have COMPLETELY missed the point to this rule. What Sarah's referring to is when complete strangers either send a person friend requests or PM out of the blue with a request for friends.

I get these a lot, from either newbies or from people who have broken rules in the past and think that as a mod, I have to be their friends. -.- I will not friend anyone who I don't know or who I know to be a known troublemaker, and sometimes these people will react nastily to my ignoring their PMs or refusing their friend requests.

This kind of thing not only happens to mods, but also to a lot of the older forum members. I suggest that you get all the facts first before you start flinging wild accusations about, especially at Sarah who's a mod and is therefore not going to be telling people not to friend others.
