Question tips and tricks - 03-20-2007, 08:36 PM

Do you have a tip or trick you have in cooking or baking? Submit it here.

Here is my tip:

If a cake/muffin recipe calls for vegetable oil you can substitute it with the same amount unsweeten applesauce in the recipe! Example: instead of 1/2 cup vegetable oil replace it with 1/2 cup unsweeten applesauce.

**learned this because my father and I are diabetic.**

instead of putting non stick oil all over the bread pan you just put some at the bottom and then use butter for the rest to not lower the quality taste of your bread

I am glad it helped ^.^
also another tip is to always wait for the oven to preheat before putting anything in. It can prevent under cooking and over cooking. Never put anything in before it is preheated. Its safer that way
