tips and tricks

Do you have a tip or trick you have in cooking or baking? Submit it here.

Here is my tip:

If a cake/muffin recipe calls for vegetable oil you can substitute it with the same amount unsweeten applesauce in the recipe! Example: instead of 1/2 cup vegetable oil replace it with 1/2 cup unsweeten applesauce.

**learned this because my father and I are diabetic.**

instead of putting non stick oil all over the bread pan you just put some at the bottom and then use butter for the rest to not lower the quality taste of your bread

Wow Siren! Thanx for sharing this tip. My mom also want help about this topic.

I am glad it helped ^.^
also another tip is to always wait for the oven to preheat before putting anything in. It can prevent under cooking and over cooking. Never put anything in before it is preheated. Its safer that way

Thanx again Siren.

^.^ also here is another trick...
when making hot cocoa use 1 parts water and the rest milk, it creates a creamier taste and be sure to heat the milk I told someone this once and they put milk in strait from the fridge.... NICE>>>

Very Nice Siren! Keep it up.
I am also sharing this tip:

Cooking hamburgers.
When cooking hamburgers, indoors or on the BBQ, poke a hole in the center. This will stop the hamburger from rising in the center and your burger will be more evenly cooked; not burnt on the edge and only medium in the middle. The hole will close while cooking.

nice i like that trick
another tip: while making pumpkin bread feel free to experiment. I made one once that had chocolate chips in it. Its really good!

Thanx for liking it.
Grapes.
Grapes do not continue to ripen after being picked. Choose Grapes that are plump, full colored and still attached to the stem.
