Why do they hide chunky chicks in bags? (Rant.)

I hate shopping for clothes. Just because I've got a large build for my height doesn't mean that all my clothes should look like a bag on me. I'm proportional. I have ten inches difference between my waist and hips. I just have a large bone structure. Size 14 Misses is the smallest I've been since I turned 15 and gained a massive rib cage and hips.
However, when looking for clothing, all I've found are jeans that are much too long: evidently they think if your waist is any bigger than 29 inches then you need to add those inches onto the inseam of your pants. This is just wrong. By the time I hem them up, well, they're no longer boot cut.
Shirts seem to be made for people who will flaunt what they've got (which I will not do, even though I am not fat, I don't like showing off my cleavage to just anybody.) Don't even get me started on dresses. All of my dresses are made just like a bag. Evidently, if you're plus sized, you've got a HUGE tummy to hide, so DON'T by any means wear ANYTHING that remotely is fitting!

I hear ya. It's depressing for my sis.She's asked where's the petite section...The girl replies,"We don't have your size".I could've knocked her one but I calmed down.

Really, I hate V neck shirts or sweaters and my mom ALWAYS wants me to wear stuff like that, I hate showing off my cleavage.

Yeah I know. I've finally gained my flat belly I've been wanting forever... and my waist is still 35 inches around... I'm only 5'4" but petites don't even work for me because I have a long waistline so I need Misses tops and petite bottoms. And even petite jeans I have to hem.

I think the worst thing is that if you want clothes that actually look good on you you have pay ALOT of cash! I hardly ever get a good pair of jeans because they're 60$ at Penningtons! and they don't last. grrrr

i have the same problem...only sort of in reverse. i'm a size three or five in juniors but i'm 5'8-5'9. so all the pants are too short. normally even if i get long lengths they're too short. i guess they assume that however big around you are correlates to your height. and they assume that all skinny girls like tight low cut shirts. very very annoying.

My sister-in-law, Shaun, has the very same problem. She's not fat, but she is broad-waisted and heavy-boned. She has a very hard time finding clothes she likes. Like you said, most of the shirts for women her size are V-necked, and she hates it. So, she makes a lot of her own clothes.\

Yeah..I'm broad-waisted..so..Its really annoying =/ especially when I'm shopping for shirts..because they usually dont fit without showing off alot of skin =/ so I usually have to wear baggy shirts just to feel comfortable and I dont like to..because I feel like ehhh. yeah..I dont know..I just relate to you..=/ I hate it v.v and my rib thing..I think its because of when I fell but I dont know maybe I am big boned...

Yeah my teacher is Short for her age and is Over Weight. and we thought she wouldn't have the best clothes...SHE HAD THE BEST CLOSE EVER!!!!
I swear go to a JCpenneys and a Sears and ull have awesome dresses there so pretty. i used to know people who were made fun of becuase they were over weight and then would tell me because they just felt so sad. its really not fair
