It's funny, though, because we were studying art in medieval Europe and whenever a nude statue would come up, everyone would cover their eyes and scream, yes, scream. Shows the maturity of my classmates, or lack thereof. I think my friends and I were the only ones that truly thought of it as...art.

I know what you mean. There are STILL people in my visual art class that laugh or cover their eyes when there's a nude picture or sculpture. Seriously... MATURE. The teacher was like, 'You people are what? 16, 17? Mature, please. It's art. The human body is a beautiful thing...' You get the idea. We spent the whole class talking about maturing and the human body's natural beauty...

My teachers never said anything. They just...let the kids be immature. I mean, it was 6th and 7th grade, so the teachers expected us to act like four year olds (lol). But I actually enjoyed it when they were talking about the artwork, and kind of missed it when the picture was gone. I think I got over my immaturity towards nude art in...fifth grade, well, after fifth grade, because my teacher acted like a kid, so he kind of acted grossed out with the pictures.

Painting is fine.

Actual, REAL nude modeling is nothing like that. Half the time it's from the back, or they have areas covered by something. I KNOW THE PIECES FIT, CAUSE I WATCHED THEM FALL AWAY, MILDEWED AND SMOLDERING.

It is art. I can only hope that when you are maturer (if that is a word, and if that ever happens), you will see it as it is. It is truly beautiful when you look past the painter seeing...everything...you have to realize that it does take a lot of confidence, and many, MANY famous statues are nude.
