Default Cinema Rantage - 01-06-2010, 02:59 PM

These are the things I loathe the most about going to the cinema.

* The Person With The Biggest Head In The World. You just know this person is going to sit right in front of you. -.-

* The Person With The Weakest Bladder In The World. I will let someone push past me once while the film is on; after that, tough. Either hold it in or go the other way. If you need the loo that often, there is something seriously wrong. O.o

* Crying Children. A cinema isn't a creche; if your toddler is unable to sit still and be quiet for two hours plus, then get a sitter. We've all paid to watch a film, not listen to your child's constant grizzling and whining.

* Children Too Young. Look, stupid parent. If a movie is a PG that means Parental Guidence and it will more than likely be too advanced/scary/confusing/boring to your tiny tot. We do not want to hear your toddler's shrieks of terror, questions or running commentary. Either get a sitter, or take the child out once the above disruptions start.

* Mobile Phones. Turn it OFF. Do not text either as it's distracting. You are not allowed to use these in a cinema anyway, as you'd know if you'd bothered to pay attention. Once a friend and I were sitting in a cinema and this guy sat down next to us. The second the film started, he took out his mobile and started texting. My friend grabbed it off of him and threw it under the seats. XD

* Talking. If you want to sit and chat to each other, then go outside. Why pay all that money for a ticket if you're not going to watch the film?

* Stealing Seats. If I and my boyf have booked seats, that's cuz we want to sit there. If we get there and you are sitting there, then we are going to get you to shift. If you won't, then feel free to sit there... til we return with an usher who'll throw you both out on your ear.

* Mr "Seen It Before". I don't care if you've seen this movie before, please don't ruin it for those of us who haven't. We don't want to hear your commentary, please put a sock in it.

That'll do for now. I do like going to the cinema, despite these rants. XD

You left out the obnoxious teens who shurt at the movie screen, Miranda. Sadly, i've been in that category before, but that was because it was a movie based on the book and they got it all wrong.

You have reserved seats in the UK? XD Funny, the local cinemas here it's all "first come, first served".

Yup; you can reserve seats. You have to pay in advance if you do that, tho. We only do that if the film's big and might be sold out.

Also, singing aloud with the music in the film is very annoying and distracting. -.-

The nearest cinema to me will take food off people if they see you carrying it in. That's why if I bring in outside food and drink, I bring my big Nightmare Before Christmas shoulder bag. XD

I always buy ice cream tho; it's Ben & Jerry's so it's a set price whereever you buy it.

Mmm, Ben N Jerry's... <3

At the Cinemark up in Robinson, there's an area for handicapped people. When my boyfriend and his folks took me up to see it with them, we had to use that section because his mother is in a wheelchair (nerve problems in her back and one leg). Some woman had the gall to say 'well, she can sit in this seat, my son can sit on my lap!' I understand that it's an unwritten rule that if there are no other seats (or if the movie has started) you can sit where-ever the hell you'd like, but if somebody comes in and has genuine need of that area, move your ass. -.- And during the same movie, some eejit's phone started going off despite the three or more warnings to turn off the phones BEFORE THE MOVIE EVER STARTED. As she sidled past, his mom said something to his dad about how rude it was to have your phone on, and the eejit said 'it's my alarm!' Yeah, having a Black Eyed Peas song as your alarm? As if.

I stare at the girl in the mirror: T-shirt, torn up jeans, no beauty queen.
But the way that you see me, you get underneath me, and all my defenses just fall away, fall away.
I am beautiful with you, even in the darkest part of me. I am beautiful with you;
Make it feel the way it's supposed to be!

You're here with me: Just show me this and I'll believe I am beautiful with you!
Halestorm

We went to one of the first screenings of Alice in Wonderland over here, since it was so busy we reserved seats. After this we were told they were for the 7 o clock viewing.
Yeah sure, they said 9.00pm so we went down to complain. They ended up putting us in the crappy seats they save when something like that happens. We could barely see half the screen and were stuck next to a two year old, four year old and the mother all who whimpered when even the slightest thing happened and started screaming through the jaberwocky scene -.-
Don't people realize we don't want to sit next to their screaming infants and it ruins the movie completely. Luckily the movie was good, as for the cinema you won't see me back at that cinema again.

I remember once being at a cinema and this nameless creature masquerading as a small child was sitting behind me with its evil creator and kicking the back of my seat. So I went to get an usher; I would miss some of the film, true, but I wouldn't be able to enjoy the film with that thing kicking my seat anyway.

The usher ended up throwing the mother and her demonspawn out of the cinema after she swore at him. Pwnage.
