had to find a children's book to perform a snippet from for Oral Interp class. Realized "The Phantom Tollbooth" by Norton Juster is probably one of the greatest children's books ever. Currently re-reading and noticing all the wordplay that I didn't pick up on when I was younger (though I did pick up on a lot of it back then; I think this book may have shaped my taste in literature and humor entirely...possibly it also shaped my writing style. It's that good.)

Hmm well currently I am reading a book about serial killers that are still at large. Can't remember the name of it. Basically it covers all serial killers who have not been caught throughout history.

Interesting tidbit. Before Jack the Ripper there was a guy killing women in Texas. Some theorists think they may actually be the same man because a suspect in the Texas murders took a ship to England when the murders in Texas stopped and then the Ripper killings started. Just thought I would share ^_^

Just read "Out of My Mind" forget by who though. Really good book. It's about a girl with cerebral palsy. She can't talk or move her body, except her thumbs. People look at her like she is stupid, but she has a photographic memory and a genius.

Just finished listening to "The Night Circus" bu Erin Morgenstern, read by Jim Dale (the same man who narrates all of the Harry Potter books on tape, as well as some of the DVD special features). Ho.Ly. WOW. What an amazing story! It was 13.5 hours long, but worth every minute. Incidentally, there is a social networking game thing too:

Bridie's Profile

If people click the link it unlocks interactions or something...I'm not quite sure how it works.

FINALLY finished reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It took a while for it to spark my interest, but it's definitely one to put on your "to read" list. It could explain a lot of things easily misunderstood. For example Frankenstein is not the monster it's the creator.

Currently reading Mythology by Edith Hamilton for the upcoming school year. It is quite interesting, but the author's style is a bit dry. Though, that doesn't seem to affect the mythology retellings that much.

Before picking up the book I was reading the Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. I plan on finishing it after reading Mythology.

I read It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini. I loved it and really want to see the movie now.
