I just finished Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It actually was really good, despite the slow beginning. I'd suggest it to you guys, as long as you have a stomach for some gross descriptions and illustrations about zombies.

I started The Firebrand friday. Its my side book of the moment since for school I am reading Othello and "Keepin' it real", which is a study of the racial gap in academic success. Othello sadly did not interest me as much as my other school readings from the semester(like The Inferno--read it); truthfully, it is the Shakespeare work that has captured me the least, though it does have an interesting possible racial theme.

^ I've always wanted to read Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. :3

Currently I'm working on three books.
The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown - I love the intertwining historical, mystical, and symbolic themes, even though Dan Brown's style of writing isn't exactly my favorite.
The Secret Garden - It's good, of course. I can't believe it's taken me this long to read it!
Man and Magic by Benjamin Appel - It's a general overview and history of magic in civilization. Very brief, but very informative. :}

I am reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman (Author of Stardust!)

It's pretty good so far.A little adult though, so if you don't like foul language, I wouldn't recommend it.

Gaiman is a fantastic writer, in my opinion. The story never gets slow, and the character development is terrific.

If I treated you bad, you'd bruise my face. Couldn't love you more you got a beautiful taste. Don't let the days go by...glycerine.

Finished two books in two days; Lady of Light and Shadow and King of Sword and Sky, both by C. L. Wilson. I've gone cross-eyed and everything's blurry as heck right now. XD That's what I get for being a bookworm!

I stare at the girl in the mirror: T-shirt, torn up jeans, no beauty queen.
But the way that you see me, you get underneath me, and all my defenses just fall away, fall away.
I am beautiful with you, even in the darkest part of me. I am beautiful with you;
Make it feel the way it's supposed to be!

You're here with me: Just show me this and I'll believe I am beautiful with you!

The Queen Jade by Yxta Maya Murray.
Really good if you're into Central American history/want to be an archaeologist someday, haha.

I sort of have the habit of reading more than one book at a time.. <__<

I am currently in the middle of re-reading Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones, as well as Japanese Culture: Fourth Edition by Paul Varley.

I read a lot of manga in between as well (need to buy more, actually.. >__<) and am also attempting to read through my entire English ---> Japanese (and vice-versa) dictionary to keep my mind fresh on the words so I do not forget. Lack of practice has made me become a bit rusty.. =/ It is a really great dictionary though, has both Kanji and the Romaji forms.. ♥

I plan on visiting the local library soon as well, so more novels may be added. ;O
