Spam, Netiquette, and Board Rules

First, I'd like to welcome any new members looking at this topic and any old members checking it over too =) The following topic includes an explanation of Spam and Netiquette and some basic rules before you post. I'd like to remind you to please read the Terms of Service which is found here. These are site rules and conditions, which you must always follow around the site AND on the forums.

SPAM
1. Junk email that is sent to your inbox that you didn't sign up for, like advertising email or p*rn.
2. Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. These can either be the same thread/post repeated over and over again, or threads/posts that consist of just a smilie or a LOL that serve no meaning whatsoever. It can also pertain to a thread started asking a question already answered in another thread or in a stickied FAQ, or an off topic thread. I've also been on strict boards that will delete as spam any abusive or obscene threads/posts.

NETIQUETTE
Basically, board manners. A good site explaining netiquette far better than I could is here.

The moderators on TDP forums would greatly appreciate it if you did not spam(for if you do, it will be locked/deleted) and if you used basic netiquette .

BASIC RULES
1. Posting- Keep the posts clean. Meaning, keep swearing to a minimum, don't insult other members, don't post obscene pictures or smilies, etc etc. I stand by my right to edit your posts at anytime if I find them inappropriate.
2. Rudeness/Memeber Problems- If you have a problem with another member or a post of their's in this section, please send me a PM instead of creating a ranty topic or replying in a rude manner. Even better than PMing them, is PMing a moderator. We're here to help.
3. Opinions- Other people have opinions too, please respect them. It's okay to disagree, not to bash and flame. Not only does it get the topic locked, but it makes you appear immature to other members.
4. Topics- Before posting a topic, remember to check if a topic regarding the one you want to post has been created before. Chances are it has, so please post there instead of repeating the topic.
5. Advertising- Do NOT, I repeat do NOT advertise your website in this forum. It is not made for that and also is against the ToS. All topics regarding this WILL be deleted regardless of the member posting it.
6. Cleaning- I do do a major cleaning every 1-2 months, so yes post counts will go down. Most of these topics pertain to old topics with few posts and repeated topics, but do not complain if they go down.
7. Chat Speak- Also, do not use chat speak excessively. The occasional "lol" is okay, but if your posts consist of only chat speak they will be deleted. There is no character limit, so get used to typing out words.
8. Spam- When you see spam on the forums, DO NOT REPLY TO IT! You only create more work for the moderators. You should either report it or send the link to a moderator.

All posts that do not add something to the conversation are being deleted. This includes post like:

1. I agree!!!
2. lol
3. It is awesome
4. I claim [enter name here]

etc etc. Posts in a topic should always be clean. If you like or dislike something, explain why or why not. I am reviewing all posts from now on and deleting all that I find unsuitable.
