my friend just needs to stop

ok my friend is 14 and hasnt had a boy friend yet, as with about 60% of the girls in my school. and she is SOOOO desparate for one! in her profile for AIM she allways puts 'I WANT A BOYFRIEND SO BADLY! ASK ME OUT!' and things like that. its starting to get annoying too. plus she dsnt really like any one. she just wants a boy friend for the sake of having one! all she talks about when we hang out is how awesome it must be to have a boy friend...
even her cousin agrees with me that she should stop!
were only in our early teens and shes worrying about this stuff!
is there any way at all that i can tell her to stop without sounding like a super b-word?

In this kind of case, best to wake up the sleeping dog and tell her to get her head out of the clouds. If boyfriends are seriously the only things she talks about, have her talk to girls who have boyfriends and ask them what it's like, tell her to ask for both the pros and cons.

ive allready done the pros and cons thing and she really didnt care. i mean she has no idea what breaking up is like! shes like 'oh ill get through it!' but knowing her she wont!

I't sprobably an extreme hormonal stage. My own best friend went through one, and every other word was about guys. My other friends and I got to the point where we knew when she'd bring something up.

My advice? If she's a really good friend even though she's being annoying, stick with her through this stage, and try to keep her from making the extremely stupid decisions. If this girl is anything like my best friend, she'll eventually simmer down a little.

i talked to my friend about it..
didnt go so good.
heres how it pretty much went after i explained how i felt:
her: YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT ITS LIKE 2 NOT HAVE A BOYFRIEND.
me: umm..yes actually i do.. i havent had one for the past 5 months. and im perfectly happy.
her: BUT I NEEED A BOYFRIEND.
me: yeahh..no you dont. (then i explained how crappy break ups are)
her: NO BODY UNDERSTANDS ME! *stomps foot and runs into the other room..

some times i wonder why i am even friends with her..

I have a friend who's like that.
She actually had a girlfriend (yeah, she's bi) about a year and a half ago, but they had a messy breakup.
All I ever hear now is 'nobody will ever love me'
'you're so lucky to have your boyfriend'

I've tried explaining how having a boy/girlfriend is not a necessary part of high school, in fact neither of my parents dated until they were 19, but she doesn't listen. I don't think you can get through to her, just wait it out or explain patiently that you know, but can yo utalk about something else?

Otherwise you'll just end up getting so sick of it that one day you'll turn around and shout at her to shut up or something, and that's never good.
