How do you make AMVs?!

everyone knows what amvs are right?
anime music videos were you take clips
from anime and put them together to go with
a song. Does anyone know how I can get the clips?
And if I figure that out...has anyone ever made
any amvs before and can give me some tips?

I've never made an AMV, but I've made two videos (which are just slideshows, honestly, because the animation was cruddy...).

You cut scenes out of an anime and title them Scene 1, 2, etc., when you save them, and then you order them however you want. It takes time and a lot of patience, especially if the only vid program you have is Windows Movie Maker (never gave me trouble, but I don't use it to make AMVs.), but if you have an account on Youtube you can PM AMV makers and ask them for advice as well. Just be nice about it. XD

Here's one I use for watching anime, dunno about downloading tho: Most Popular Videos for This Week: Online Video Guide | Veoh Video Network There's also these ones, which have loads of different animes on it: Watch Anime Online for free! Watch Anime Episodes and Anime Movies for free! Anime You can also do a google search to find more, or to find specific animes.

AMV doesn't necessarily stand for ANIME music video, it also stands for ANIMATED music video (for those of us who have no interest in anime but like western cartoons)

I've made a few AMVs using simple programs like WMM2, which can be found (or upgraded) on any Windows OS. Most advanced AMV makers use Vega or Adobe Premiere... but, if you KNOW how to time clips to the beat of the music (and not the lyrics, like many people mistakenly do (unless you do both, then it's okay)) WMM works just fine
