Want to make a personal doll maker but...

I am not sure what to do.
Do I pick clothes and stuff from other websites and put them on there?
Can I pick clothes from websites and edit them on paint or photoshop to put on there? If so and if I want people to give me credit for them what do I do?
Can ask someone if I can use something of theirs if I give them credit for it?
Generally I just need help to start me off so please help me.

You can use iaza to make dolls and props transparent; it's free and I've been using it for years.

And if you do take people's props, you must always give credit. Don't claim you made props when you didn't, cuz that counts as stealing and the person who made the props could get your dollmaker taken down.

Really? I had no idea! Now I won't feel so bad when asking (nicely) for people to give me credit. Here I thought it was all about whether or not they were a decent enough person.

I've actually haven't seen many of the Personal Makers have their own bases...It's more of what people want close at hand for their own personal use or what they think other people would like to have. My maker is more for other people than it is for me cause I can do all the stuff it provides to other members on Photoshop. Be that as it may: It's all Shuni/Unique stuff and bases. That's what people like to use. I don't have a single base that's not Shuni styled, granted I have made a ton of bases and clothings and props and stuff, but that's not how I started out, that came way later. Mostly all the stuff I've come by is just shared throughout the rest of the personal makers. I know it was made by someone at some point (duh right, lol) but not everyone has made it.

Starting your maker IS a lot like how xLEXii said to do so. And Iaza is a great site for you to do all this stuff, I mean who knows? You may not like all the effort that has to go into making your own personal maker, so buying Photoshop just for that may be a bit wasteful till you're sure. Even so, if you're not making anything you don't need any website or editor. You can just right click and save items as .gif/.png and upload it to your maker. Or just save each individual item using the Dollmaker.

Credits are a must! Even (especially) for items from other websites(copyright). I know this was said already, but again some/a lot of sites don't want you taking their items. To find this out you can normally find it under the site's FAQ's or by emailing the owner. To make sure your items get credit have them in it's own catagory that states that you made/edited it. It also helps to have a credit sign for those items in your maker. I've come across a few (lazy) people who wouldn't give me credit until I made them a sign.
